Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG) represents scholarly papers and their contributions as structured, machine-actionable data. Researchers can browse papers, inspect an individual paper’s knowledge graph, and organize contributions around a research question. Its comparison-first approach suits people who want to examine how papers address a specific problem; it is less suited to readers looking primarily for broad paper discovery or citation-network exploration.

The comparison workflow supports tabular views, faceted browsing for larger comparisons, and charts for visualizing results. Users can add papers manually or import paper metadata using a DOI lookup, and CSV files can be used to bring in comparison data. Templates help structure paper contents. These features make ORKG relevant when a research question can be expressed through comparable contributions, rather than simply a list of papers to browse.

Comparisons can be exported as CSV, LaTeX, RDF, or PDF, and published with DOI identifiers. ORKG is open source and free, with web and API access and cloud deployment. Documentation and email are listed as support channels. Choose it for structured literature mapping and reusable comparisons; look elsewhere if your central need is dedicated citation-link mapping or semantic and natural-language paper search. Its focus is on representing and comparing contributions, not serving as a general-purpose discovery interface.
