Octachron is a MIDI drum sequencer for iPhone, iPad, compatible Apple-silicon Macs, and Apple Vision Pro. It is designed for producers who want to sequence external drum apps, instruments, AUv3 AudioUnits, or MIDI hardware rather than generate sound inside the software. The workflow centers on step sequencing, pattern creation, MIDI control, and synchronization, making it a fit for beat makers who prefer detailed pattern experimentation over an all-in-one production environment.

The published plan is straightforward: Octachron costs $9.99 as a one-time purchase. That plan includes standalone MIDI sequencing, an AUv3 MIDI plugin, up to 16 tracks, and MIDI file and preset export. Its strongest area is pattern control. Tracks can use between 1 and 32 steps and have adjustable lengths, while up to 8 patterns can be chained in song mode. Per-step velocity, ratcheting, offset, probability, trigger condition, and gate-length controls support precise variations. A smart pattern randomizer and trigger mutation add controlled change without moving away from a step-based workflow.

Octachron fits setups built around MIDI-compatible software and hardware. It integrates with AUM, Cubasis, Logic Pro, Beatmaker, ApeMatrix, Nanostudio, AUv3 AudioUnits, Ableton Link, and external MIDI hardware. MIDI CC modulation supports up to 8 CCs per track, and mapping presets are available for drum apps and hardware. Pattern presets, MIDI files, and MIDI mapping presets can also be exported. Choose Octachron if your priority is compact, detailed MIDI sequencing on Apple platforms. Choose another tool if you need built-in sound generation or a broader audio production suite.
