OceanWP review
A flexible free theme for WooCommerce, content sites, and LMS projects.

OceanWP is a multipurpose, classic WordPress theme for blogs, portfolios, business websites, online stores, and learning sites. Its free plan includes responsive layouts, mobile customization, WordPress Customizer controls, Gutenberg and block-editor support, RTL and translation support, SEO and schema features, AMP support, and a ready-to-use child theme. It is best suited to site owners who want a configurable foundation for WooCommerce or LMS projects rather than a hosted website-building service.
Its strongest differentiator is ecosystem coverage. OceanWP supports WooCommerce shop customization and works with Elementor, Beaver Builder, Brizy, Visual Composer, Divi, and SiteOrigin. It also supports LearnDash, LifterLMS, Easy Digital Downloads, and bbPress, giving the theme a useful range across stores, courses, digital products, and community features. Pre-built website demo import can help establish an initial site structure, while the Customizer provides controls for layouts, colors, typography, headers, menus, and footers.
The free plan makes OceanWP an accessible starting point, while Ocean Extra and optional Ocean Pro extensions add layouts, templates, popups, portfolios, and further ecommerce capabilities. That structure suits projects that want to begin with a free theme and expand into commercial functionality. However, OceanWP remains a self-hosted WordPress theme, so it does not replace hosting or WordPress administration. Teams seeking a hosted builder, or a simpler block-first theme with less configuration, may prefer an alternative. OceanWP is a strong fit for flexible WooCommerce and LMS sites that value integrations and detailed presentation controls.
