North Commerce brings product sales and funnel building together in a WordPress-based commerce platform. It is aimed at creators selling digital products, courses, coaching, communities, merchandise, or physical products who want checkout and offer tools alongside storefront management. Buyers can choose a managed WordPress site or install a plugin on their own WordPress site, making the choice partly about who manages the hosting environment.

Its funnel tools go beyond page creation: a drag-and-drop builder includes conversion blocks, while the offer engine supports bundles, subscriptions, free gifts, and Buy X Get Y offers. Cart experiments can add upsells and incentives, and live-link A/B testing supports comparing funnel versions. Product, variant, inventory, shipping, and discount management cover store operations; checkout is native and three-step. Stripe and PayPal are listed integrations. AI-generated product and funnel content is also included, alongside order-status email notification templates.

Pricing differs by deployment. Hosted North Commerce costs $199 for the first year, with custom-domain publishing and a managed WordPress site; the published plan says it becomes $79 per month after that first year. It also includes free staging while building. Self-Hosted North Commerce costs $199 per year for a plugin license, annual license and product updates, with the store remaining on the customer’s server. The product also has a free plan. North Commerce fits WordPress sellers who want built-in checkout and offer testing, but is a weaker fit for teams seeking general automated marketing email sequences or a commerce setup that does not depend on WordPress.

North Commerce pros and cons

    • Manages products, variants, inventory, shipping, and discounts
  • Where it doesn't
    • Hosted pricing rises to $79/month after the first year
    • Self-hosted option requires a WordPress installation and customer server
    • Email features focus on order-status notifications, not marketing sequences
