Noraxon myoMOTION is an inertial-sensor motion-capture module within the Noraxon MR/myoRESEARCH platform. It records wireless IMU signals, visualizes movement through a skeletal or humanoid avatar, and supports analysis and reporting. Its workflows cover rehabilitation, sports science, gait assessment, ergonomics and biomechanics research, making it most relevant to clinical, laboratory and performance teams that need measured human-movement data rather than an animation-first tool.

The software combines anatomical and orientation joint angles with joint trajectories, linear acceleration and automated contact detection. Virtual calibration adjustment and drift stabilization help maintain capture quality, while real-time range-of-motion feedback and synchronization support immediate movement review. Integrations with EMG, force, pressure and video systems, plus third-party systems and MANUS Metagloves Pro, give teams options for combining inertial measurements with other modalities. FBX skeletal animation export provides a handoff path when recorded motion needs to move into compatible downstream workflows.

myoMOTION runs on Windows PCs as a desktop deployment and is sold with its hardware/software system through Noraxon’s sales team. The contact-sales model suits organizations that need a configured motion-analysis setup, while the absence of a free plan makes it less suited to casual evaluation or small teams seeking self-serve entry. There are no listed AI features or open-source components. Choose myoMOTION for clinical and research analysis built around wireless inertial capture, joint metrics and synchronized feedback; consider another product if broad platform coverage, built-in AI or animation-centric tooling is the priority.

Noraxon myoMOTION pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Wireless inertial 3D capture with skeletal avatar visualization
    • Joint angles, trajectories, acceleration and contact detection support analysis
    • Real-time feedback, calibration and FBX export connect measurement to review
  • Where it doesn't
    • Windows desktop deployment limits cross-platform access
    • Contact-sales purchasing offers no self-serve plan
    • Analysis focus may not suit animation-first pipelines
