Neumann MA 1 combines room-correction software with an individually calibrated measurement microphone for Neumann KH studio monitors. It guides users through room-acoustic measurements, analyzes the room, calculates a room-specific target curve and correction parameters, then stores alignment data in compatible DSP monitors or subwoofers. The desktop application runs on Windows and macOS and is intended for home studios, professional control rooms and multichannel production environments. The MA 1 software is available as a free download, while the listed product package includes the measurement microphone.

Its main strength is the guided correction workflow. MA 1 calculates room-specific settings automatically while allowing users to modify the room-adaptive target curve. The system addresses amplitude, time-of-arrival and level alignment, and it can align bass management between subwoofers and satellite monitors. For compatible analog monitors, networked subwoofers add phase linearization. Multiple hardware systems and alignments can be stored and recalled, which suits facilities that switch between monitoring configurations.

Stereo monitoring is supported natively, while the paid Multichannel Extension adds quad, 5.1, 7.1, 5.1.4 and 7.1.4 setups, with support for up to four subwoofers and immersive alignment. This makes MA 1 a focused choice for studios already working within Neumann's monitor ecosystem, including immersive rooms that need repeatable alignment across layouts. It is less suitable for users seeking software that works across varied speaker brands or a broad, hardware-independent correction platform. Buyers should also plan around the paid microphone package and separate multichannel extension when those capabilities are required.
