Netframe is an open-source digital workplace for companies, organizations, communities, education, and associations. It brings intranet and collaboration functions into one workspace, including activity feeds, document management, group workspaces, messaging, video conferencing, calendars, task management, collaborative notes, an employee and contact directory, and internal semantic search. Teams can access it through the web, iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux, with SaaS, cloud, and self-hosted deployment options.
The published plans show a free option for families, associations, and education, with technical costs potentially applying to association and education deployments. The Business plan costs EUR 3 per user per month, billed monthly, and includes document management, groups and social networking, a directory, calendars and events, and a collaborative office suite with notes. The Administration plan costs EUR 3,000 per year and adds a public-service offer, 10 GB of storage per user, and direct support by phone and on site. The vendor’s English pricing page states that the Business offer has no commitment. Integrations include Dropbox, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and OnlyOffice.
Netframe’s strongest fit is for organizations that want a broad collaboration environment while retaining open-source and deployment flexibility. Role-based permissions, visitor access, customizable branding, homepage and navigation colors, document versioning, and semantic search support a structured internal workspace rather than a basic noticeboard. Its breadth also means teams should define their intranet requirements before rollout, particularly around content structure and governance. Organizations seeking a free or self-hosted workspace with collaboration at its center should consider Netframe; teams focused on a narrowly scoped communications intranet may prefer a simpler product.
