Naraio review
A web-based JLPT path pairs handwriting checks with tutor practice and writing feedback.

Naraio is a browser-based Japanese learning app for beginners through advanced learners, organized around staged JLPT N5–N1 content. Its scope spans kana, kanji, vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, writing, and speaking. The guided path, handwriting checks, and corrections make it a fit for learners who want structured study with writing feedback, rather than a tool focused on just one skill. The site currently offers free learning tools and promotes a waitlist while the full app prepares to open.
The plans scale by access and practice limits. Free costs $0 per month and includes all N5 content, a dictionary and grammar explorer, 20 pronunciation checks a day, and 10 minutes with the tutor to start. Essential is $4.99 per month for the N5–N1 path, 100 daily pronunciation checks, 10 role plays and 10 writing corrections a day, with tutor time on credits. Plus costs $9.99 monthly and adds unlimited checks, role plays, and corrections, 100 tutor minutes a month, and five custom dialogues a month. Pro is $19.99 monthly, with 300 tutor minutes and 20 custom dialogues a month, as well as early access to new content. A seven-day free trial requires a card. Classroom adds student seats, teacher progress tracking, assignments, invoicing, and dedicated support.
Naraio’s learning mix is its main distinction: leveled stories include furigana and comprehension questions, listening dialogues use natural voices with adjustable playback, and spaced review revisits kanji, words, and corrections. Tutor conversations and role plays complement the writing prompts and explanations. The trade-off is platform reach: Naraio is web-only, so learners seeking a mobile app should look elsewhere. Support is offered by email and community. Choose Naraio for a guided, balanced study routine that includes writing and speaking; consider an alternative if mobile access is essential or you need the full app immediately.
