NanoStudio 2 is a music production environment for musicians creating songs, beats and electronic music on Apple devices. It brings synthesis, sampling, MIDI, automation, sequencing, mixing and export into one application for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and compatible Apple-silicon Mac systems. The workflow is aimed at composers and beatmakers who want a complete mobile setup rather than a narrowly focused waveform editor.

Its strongest advantage is feature depth across the production process. The Obsidian synthesizer supports multiple synthesis methods, modulation, filters and presets, while Slate provides a sample-based performance pad and drum-kit workflow. Song arrangement, MIDI, automation and sample editors support detailed composition, and the sequencer includes tempo, time-signature tracks, tempo ramps and Ableton Link. Mixing is similarly well covered, with unlimited tracks, grouping, audio sends, MIDI sends and built-in effects such as reverb, compression, EQ, limiter, delay, chorus, flanger and phaser.

NanoStudio 2 also fits an expanded Apple music-creation ecosystem. External AUv3 instruments and audio or MIDI effects can be hosted inside the application, with Audiobus and Ableton Link support for connected workflows. Files can move through Files, Dropbox, AudioShare, AirDrop, email and WebDAV, while mixdown and stem export support WAV, AIFF, OGG and M4A. The App Store listing describes the application as free with in-app purchases. Choose it if Apple-device production, synthesis, sequencing and mobile mixing are central to your workflow. Choose an alternative if you need broader platform coverage or a simpler editor focused primarily on recording and trimming.
