It supports two-way participant messaging, scheduled automated communications, text-message surveys, appointment reminders, group alerts, data collection, and live TextChat. Teams can manage projects and participant conversations through a dashboard, connect with REDCap, use messaging and participant APIs, export reports, and assign access through team logins. Its focus is structured research communication rather than broad business messaging.
Pricing is organized around research use cases. Direct costs $42 per month when billed annually or $49 per month when billed monthly and provides one-way SMS for REDCap users only. Basic costs $99 annually or $124 monthly and adds two-way SMS, automated texting, all modules, and support for teams and labs. Plus costs $199 annually or $249 monthly, with the same core capabilities for departments and subject recruitment. Pharma & Device costs $1,498 per month under either billing option and is for pharmaceutical and device organizations on a cost-per-study basis. Its security posture also warrants careful review: the developer page claims HIPAA compliance, while the privacy policy qualifies that the mobile text-messaging channel is not technically HIPAA compliant.
