Mixcraft is a Windows digital audio workstation from Acoustica for musicians, producers, creators, educators, and professionals. Its core workspace covers multitrack audio and MIDI recording, loop-based composition, virtual instruments, effects, mixing, automation, and third-party plug-ins. Video editing and scoring make it relevant to creators who need music production alongside picture work. The product is sold through Home Studio, Recording Studio, and Pro Studio editions, with optional rent-to-own plans that provide ownership after completing payments. A 14-day free trial is available, while the main application is paid rather than free.

The edition structure maps clearly to different production needs. Home Studio supports up to 16 audio and virtual instrument tracks, video editing, piano roll, step, and notation editors, plus 7,500+ loops and sounds, six virtual instruments, and 20 effects. Recording Studio removes the track limit and adds 16 virtual instruments, 36 effects, and ReWire hosting. Pro Studio keeps unlimited audio and MIDI tracks while adding AI-powered stem separation, advanced MIDI and audio output routing, Melodyne integration, and audio-to-MIDI conversion. Buyers should compare the track limits, included instruments, effects, and specialist tools before choosing an edition.

Mixcraft also extends beyond conventional timeline editing. Its Live Performance Panel supports synchronized audio and MIDI clip sets, while MIDI step recording, VST support, parametric EQ, compression, and spectrum analysis cover common production workflows. The Mixcraft Store, Celemony Melodyne, Cherry Audio plug-ins, ReWire, and other VST plug-ins broaden its ecosystem. iOS and Android coverage comes through the Mixcraft Remote companion app rather than the main DAW. Choose Mixcraft if Windows production, video work, notation, and flexible MIDI/audio workflows matter together. Choose another option if a macOS-native workstation or a free plan is essential.
