Minimalist Phone review
A paid, distraction-focused launcher with scheduled blocking and notification filters.

Minimalist Phone replaces an icon-filled Android home screen with a text-based layout for people who want fewer distractions and more control over smartphone use. It combines a pared-back screen with tools for limiting app access, filtering notifications and organizing apps. The fit is clearest for solo users and small-scale personal use who want a launcher focused on digital wellbeing; it is not a general-purpose customization choice for someone who wants to personalize app icons.
App blocking is the central capability: users can block selected apps for chosen durations or schedule blocking, and can hide apps from the home screen. Notification filtering, monochrome mode for selected apps, timed in-app reminders and a launch delay add other ways to put friction between the user and distracting apps. Folders, favorites and app renaming retain basic organization within the text-first interface. Together these features make the product more than a visual theme, though its focus remains on managing access and attention rather than broad interface customization.
Minimalist Phone is paid and has no free plan. The vendor describes monthly, annual and one-time purchase options, with a free trial; purchase prices vary by region and local taxes and are shown in the app. That arrangement gives prospective users a chance to evaluate the launcher before choosing a payment option, but it requires checking the app for the applicable price. Choose it if a text-based home screen and blocking controls match your goals. Consider another launcher if you need a free plan, icon customization or a platform beyond Android.
