Minimal Launcher replaces the Android home screen with a text-led layout centered on a clock, date, favorite apps, and a searchable app drawer. It suits people who want quick access to a small set of apps and prefer a pared-back screen over an icon-heavy home page. The drawer can be filtered as you type, and apps can be renamed or hidden. Up to ten favorites fit on the home screen.

Swipe controls give the launcher much of its practical flexibility: users can configure actions for left, right, and downward swipes, while swiping up opens the app drawer. Appearance options include system, light, and dark themes, plus typography and text appearance controls. Clock and date display can be customized, and an upcoming calendar event can be shown optionally. The focus is deliberately narrow: icon grids, widgets, and feeds are omitted, and the category specifications show no icon customization or grid customization. Choose it for text-based navigation and gesture shortcuts; look elsewhere if arranging app icons or adding widgets is central to your setup.

According to the product FAQ, Minimal Launcher is free, with no ads, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paywalls. There are no paid tiers to weigh against those features. The official site labels the product as being in closed beta, so its current status matters to anyone seeking a settled launcher experience. Support is offered by email. It is a reasonable fit for users comfortable with a text-first home screen and beta availability, but less suitable for those who need a conventional customizable grid or a mature, broadly featured launcher.
