Midjourney is an AI image-generation platform for artists, designers, creative teams, and other visual-content creators. It combines text-prompt generation with uploaded or library image prompts, style and edit-model references, and tools for refining images after creation. The web Editor supports inpainting, outpainting, Pan and Zoom Out, custom aspect ratios, Smart Select masking, background erasure, layers, retexturing, upscaling, and downloads. Commercial use is included through its General Commercial Terms.
Pricing is organized around Fast GPU Time, with additional Relax Mode access on selected plans. Basic costs $10 per month when billed monthly, or $8 per month with annual billing, and includes 3.3 hours / 200 minutes of Fast GPU Time per month. Standard costs $30 monthly and adds 15 hours of Fast GPU Time plus unlimited images with Relax Mode. Pro costs $60 monthly, provides 30 hours of Fast GPU Time, unlimited images and SD video with Relax Mode, and Stealth Mode. Mega costs $120 monthly and provides 60 hours of Fast GPU Time, unlimited images and SD video with Relax Mode, and Stealth Mode. There is no free plan.
The product fits creators who want a wide set of image-generation and editing controls in one subscription, particularly when commercial use and reference-driven workflows matter. Discord is available alongside the web experience, but the platform coverage remains limited to web, and the published plans do not provide general API access. Choose Midjourney for visual creation, iteration, and editing; consider an alternative if you need programmatic generation, broader platform coverage, or a free entry tier.
