MetaScan is a mobile photogrammetry application for turning photos of objects, people, faces, and products into textured 3D models. It is aimed at consumers, creators, product teams, 3D-printing users, and AR, game, and e-commerce workflows. Guided capture works on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices without requiring LiDAR, while object, full-body, and head-and-shoulders scan modes cover several common capture needs. Instant previews appear on the device, with HD reconstruction handled in the cloud.
Pricing is structured for occasional use through the Free plan and for higher-volume work through Pro and Studio. Free supports up to five scans in the library, one HD reconstruction per month, full-quality preview scans, and sharing or ordering figurines. Pro costs $9.99 per month and raises capacity to 100 scans, 10 HD reconstructions, three auto-rigs, high-resolution exports, and priority processing. Studio costs $29.99 per month and includes up to 200 scans, 50 HD reconstructions, 10 auto-rigs, studio-grade exports and rigging, plus everything in Pro.
The strongest fit is a phone-first workflow that needs textured assets rather than a specialized surveying or mapping pipeline. GLB, USDZ, and OBJ exports support common 3D and AR uses, while integrations with Blender, Unreal, Unity, and Apple Quick Look extend its place in creative production. AR viewing, auto-rigging, and animation add value for characters and interactive content. Choose MetaScan for accessible object and character capture across web, iOS, and Android; choose an alternative if your work depends on large-scale monthly reconstruction volumes or a workflow outside mobile capture and cloud processing.
