MessageFlow SMS API review
A transactional SMS API with priority processing, webhooks, inbound messaging, and dashboard visibility.

MessageFlow SMS API is a cloud-based service for businesses and enterprise teams sending transactional SMS from applications. It supports authentication codes, banking alerts, password resets, and other operational notifications through HTTPS POST requests and JSON payloads. The service also includes inbound messaging, a dashboard for outgoing and incoming API messages, and access through web and API environments. Its positioning fits teams that need application-driven messaging with delivery visibility and priority processing for time-critical notifications.
The plan structure combines email and SMS allowances. Starter supports up to 10,000 contacts, 20,000 marketing emails, and 10,000 API-triggered emails, but includes no SMS. Grow costs €159 per month and adds 1,000 SMS alongside allowances for up to 20,000 contacts, 100,000 marketing emails, and 20,000 API-triggered emails. Advanced provides 5,000 SMS, up to 50,000 contacts, unlimited marketing emails, and 50,000 API-triggered emails. Prime provides 10,000 SMS, up to 100,000 contacts, unlimited marketing emails, and 150,000 API-triggered emails. Mix and Match starts at €465 per month with a custom combination of SMS, RCS, email, and mobile push. Enterprise adds unlimited contacts, unlimited users, custom onboarding, an SLA option, and corporate-grade security. A 30-day trial is available.
MessageFlow’s strongest technical area is delivery control and visibility. The RESTful API uses Application-Key and Authorization headers, while real-time webhooks and delivery reports cover delivered, undelivered, and expired messages. Priority processing is suited to time-sensitive notifications, and code snippets are provided for cURL, Python, PHP, Java, C#, Node.js, Go, Ruby, and Swift. SMTP, REST API, webhooks, Synerise, ManagoAI, and Microsoft Azure Marketplace are supported connections. Teams needing SMS only at small scale may find the email-led Starter plan a poor fit, while buyers requiring broader channels or custom requirements should consider Mix and Match or Enterprise.
