Melody Scanner is an AI-powered music transcription app from Klangio GmbH for musicians, composers, teachers, producers, instrumentalists, and transcribers. It converts audio recordings and YouTube videos into musical notation, including piano arrangements, lead sheets, melodies, and chords. The product runs in a web browser and on iOS and Android, making it suitable for users who want to transcribe music across desktop and mobile environments.
The free plan provides YouTube import, AI composition, recordings of up to 1 minute, sheets limited to 40 bars, and PDF export. The yearly and monthly subscriptions add audio-file uploads, full sheets, custom PDF export, and MIDI and MusicXML export, while retaining YouTube import and AI composition. The published plans show a free entry point and paid options for users who need longer material, more export control, or file uploads. A 14-day money-back guarantee is also stated for the product.
Melody Scanner’s strongest area is output flexibility. Users can review transcriptions in sheet-music or piano-roll views, edit notes and measures, and export PDF, MIDI, MusicXML, or GuitarPro files. Its modes cover piano arrangements, lead sheets with melodies and chords, and a universal mode for notes from solo recordings. The product does not provide stem separation, so it is less suited to workflows that require isolated instruments or parts. Choose it for accessible transcription with notation editing and multiple export formats; choose an alternative when stem separation is central to the workflow.
