Marmoset Viewer review
A free viewer for polished, animated 3D presentations across web and desktop.

Marmoset Viewer is a free WebGL-based 3D model viewer for artists and teams presenting interactive scenes to clients, coworkers, or online audiences. It displays optimized .mview packages containing meshes, materials, textures, lights, cameras, animations, and post-effect settings. Viewing is available in browsers, on Windows and macOS through a standalone desktop application, and on iOS and Android through supported viewing experiences. Browser presentations can be embedded with HTML or an iframe, and ArtStation is supported as an integration.
Its main strength is presentation depth rather than technical inspection. Scenes can include animation, multiple cameras, real-time lighting, dynamic reflections, refractive materials, shadowed fog, and shadow catcher effects. The result is a viewer suited to showing finished artwork and interactive scenes with more visual control than a basic model preview. The Free Viewer plan includes local .mview viewing, browser-based viewing, embedding, and offline desktop access, with no paid viewer tier described.
The workflow has an important boundary: content is authored and exported through Marmoset Toolbag, while the standalone Viewer primarily loads .mview packages. That makes it a focused choice for teams already preparing scenes in that ecosystem, but less suitable for buyers seeking a broad file-format viewer or in-viewer authoring tools. It also lacks measurement and annotation capabilities, so product review, engineering inspection, and dimension-focused collaboration are better served by another category of software. Choose Marmoset Viewer for visually polished 3D presentations; choose an alternative when analysis, markup, or wider format support matters more than rendering and presentation.
