makeshop byGMO is a hosted ecommerce platform for businesses operating online stores in Japan. It brings together product catalogs, bulk CSV management, inventory and stock alerts, orders, customers, payments, promotions and analytics. Merchants can also use abandoned-cart email recovery, coupons, points, rank-based customer management and volume discounts. Its feature set suits retailers that need more than a basic storefront, particularly those selling through Japanese marketplaces, building B2B workflows or supporting recurring purchases and international selling.

The published plans show a paid structure with no free plan. Premium costs ¥13,750 per month and includes 10,000 products, five staff accounts, no platform sales fee, Yahoo! Shopping and Amazon integrations, and API integration. Longer Premium contracts offer discounts of 5% for six months, 10% for 12 months and 15% for 24 months. Enterprise costs ¥55,000 per month and raises capacity to 50,000 products with 20 staff accounts included, while retaining no platform sales fee and API integration. A 15-day trial is available without a credit card, giving prospective customers a defined evaluation period before committing.

Its ecosystem is a central strength. In addition to Yahoo! Shopping and Amazon, makeshop byGMO connects with LINE Shopping, Instagram, Google Shopping, Meta Conversions API, NEXT ENGINE, PCA and kintone. The makeshop apps marketplace and API extend the platform beyond its core hosted tools, while AI product-description generation and AI chatbot support add automation features. Choose it if Japanese marketplace connectivity, B2B capabilities and operational breadth matter more than a free entry tier. Businesses seeking a simpler, lower-cost storefront may prefer a narrower platform.
