Makers Empire 3D review
A beginner-friendly 3D design app with strong classroom tools and print support.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Makers Empire 3D is an educational 3D design app for students aged 5–15 and the schools that teach them. It combines the Shaper freeform editor, Blocker block-based editor, and an Advanced editor for 2D sketching and extrusion. Students can visualize designs with augmented reality, check models for potential printing errors, and export STL, OBJ, GLB, or image files. The product is designed for primary, elementary, and middle school instruction rather than professional production modeling.
Classroom delivery is the clearest strength. The Teacher Dashboard supports class management and assessment, while 10 curriculum-aligned Challenge Courses and 150+ curriculum-aligned lesson plans give educators structured material. Google Classroom, Clever, Microsoft, and Schoology integrations support school ecosystems. The app runs on web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, giving schools flexibility across devices. These capabilities make it a practical fit for guided lessons, project work, and introductory 3D printing activities.
The free app provides an accessible starting point, while paid plans add school-oriented access and teaching resources. The Class Plan costs $329 per year, and the Maker Plan costs $824 per year. The School Plan costs $1,149 per year. Each includes full app access, the Teacher Dashboard, built-in assessment tools, 10 Challenge Courses, 150+ lesson plans, and STL downloads. The District Plan is listed at $3 per student and adds customized learning content. Schools should choose Makers Empire 3D for beginner-focused curriculum delivery and classroom management; teams needing deeper professional modeling workflows should consider a more advanced tool.
