Mailchimp is an email marketing and marketing automation platform for growing businesses. It supports campaign creation, audience management, segmentation, automated email flows, landing pages, analytics, testing, signup forms, and mobile management. Its web, iOS, Android, and API access make it suitable for small businesses that need more than transactional messages, especially teams building ongoing marketing programs around subscriber activity and contact attributes.
The Free plan includes up to 250 contacts, 500 email sends per month, A/B testing, landing pages, and forms. Essentials adds single-email automations and 24/7 email and chat support, while its starting tier includes 500 contacts and sends equal to 10 times the contact limit each month. Standard starts at 500 contacts, increases that ratio to 12 times, and adds expanded automation flows, advanced segmentation, and multivariate testing. Premium starts at 10,000 contacts, uses a 15-times monthly send ratio, and adds unlimited audiences and seats plus phone and priority support. Paid pricing is contact-tier dependent, and eligible 10,000-plus contact plans can have annual billing.
Mailchimp also fits businesses that depend on connected tools. Integrations include Shopify, WooCommerce, Canva, Zapier, Square, Wix, Squarespace, Stripe, Salesforce, LinkedIn, WordPress, and Facebook. Its Marketing API supports audiences, campaigns, webhooks, and OAuth, while AI features and mobile apps extend campaign management beyond the browser. That breadth is useful for marketing-led email operations, but the positioning is less suitable for teams whose primary requirement is transactional delivery. Choose Mailchimp for campaign breadth, automation, segmentation, and ecosystem coverage; choose a more transaction-focused product when triggered operational messages are the central need.
