Mail.bg is a Bulgarian email service operated by MAIL.BG EAD, with free accounts on the mail.bg domain and free mail hosting on a domain a user owns. Its 50 GB mailbox, standard email protocols and web interface make it a fit for individuals who want custom-domain email without a subscription. The service has been publicly available since 1998 and is based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The free plan includes IMAP, POP3 and SMTP over SSL, allowing access through compatible mail clients, and IMAP push for mobile devices. Mail.bg also offers spam protection, integrated antivirus, message labels, keyboard shortcuts and multiple file attachments. The listed attachment limit is 20 MB. Platform coverage is listed as web, while the service description says its web interface is adapted for phones and tablets; that is distinct from a separately listed mobile app. This combination suits people who want access through a browser or their own mail client rather than a wider app ecosystem.
For a user who needs only a personal mailbox, the free plan's custom-domain hosting and 50 GB capacity are the main draw. Mail.bg is less suited to buyers who need a choice of published personal tiers or larger attachments: the available plan information describes Free, and no paid personal plan details are published. Choose it for a free domain mailbox with mail-client protocol support; consider alternatives if a dedicated mobile platform or paid-plan comparison is important to your decision. These trade-offs make it a focused email option rather than a fit for every workflow.
