Magnus Choir review
A focused, low-cost choir plug-in with 54 presets and detailed SATB controls.

Magnus Choir is a desktop virtual instrument for creating natural and synthetic choir parts. Its mixed SATB structure provides soprano and alto women’s sections alongside tenor and bass men’s sections, making it suited to solo composers and small music-production setups that need choir textures, pads or atmospheric and cinematic sounds. The instrument operates as a plug-in rather than a standalone application, so it fits workflows already centered on a compatible DAW or MIDI host.
The published plan shows one Magnus Choir license at a one-time price of $54.90. That purchase includes 54 ready-to-use presets, natural and synthetic mixed choirs, and plug-in support for Windows and macOS. Sound-shaping controls include low-frequency oscillator modulation with rate and depth, an ADSR envelope, pitch bend, built-in reverb, low-pass and high-pass filtering, cutoff-frequency adjustment, amplitude range, volume and panning. These controls give the preset library more room for adjustment than a fixed sample browser, while keeping the product focused on choir synthesis and textures.
Compatibility is centered on common desktop plug-in formats: VST and VST3 on Windows, plus Audio Unit, VST and VST3 on macOS. MIDI-controller operation is available in a compatible host, but users must already have that host environment in place. The limited demo reduces the opportunity to evaluate the instrument before buying, and the vendor states that plug-ins are non-refundable. Magnus Choir therefore suits buyers seeking an inexpensive, dedicated choir plug-in with SATB sections and onboard processing; users wanting a standalone instrument or a broader orchestral library should choose another option.
