Magic Author review
A focused web editor for EPUB/PDF creation, Canva covers, and Google Play Books publishing.

Magic Author is a web-based ebook creation and publishing platform for writers, authors, and creative designers. Its book wizard helps organize sections and tables of contents, while the editor supports text formatting, hyperlinks, lists, code blocks, blockquotes, special characters, images, tables, and autosaving. Projects can be downloaded as EPUB or PDF files, with standard and print-ready PDF options. RTL language support also accommodates multilingual content.
The product’s strongest area is automated production. Magic Author handles formatting, layout, page numbering, headers, and table-of-contents generation, while supporting both reflowable and fixed-layout output. Cover design connects with Canva, giving users a dedicated path from manuscript structure to cover artwork. These features suit authors who want a guided web workflow rather than separate tools for editing, formatting, and cover creation. It does not include AI features, so content creation remains the author’s responsibility.
Publishing and distribution are focused rather than broad. Magic Author supports direct publishing to Google Play Books and includes a sales dashboard, but its listed integrations are Canva and Google Play Books. The published plan is SUPER, with EPUB ebook creation, standard and print-ready PDF creation, automatic formatting and layout, Google Play Books publishing, and sales dashboard access. Choose Magic Author if you need browser-based EPUB/PDF production with automated layout and Canva cover integration. Consider another tool if you need desktop access, AI-assisted creation, or a wider integration ecosystem.
