Logic Pro is Apple’s digital audio workstation for professional music production on Mac and iPad. It supports recording, arranging, editing and mixing audio and MIDI, along with software instruments, effects, loops, sampling and multitrack production. Its video soundtrack editing and synchronization features also make it relevant to composers and editors working with picture. Apple-based producers who want one environment for music creation and video audio work are the clearest fit.

Pricing depends on the version. Logic Pro for iPad costs $4.99 per month or $49 per year. Apple Creator Studio costs $12.99 per month or $129 per year and includes Logic Pro alongside other Apple creative applications. Logic Pro for Mac is a $199.99 one-time purchase. There is no free plan, but the separate Mac purchase gives desktop users a non-subscription option, while the iPad plans provide a lower monthly entry point.

The feature set reaches beyond basic editing. Flex Time and Flex Pitch support audio manipulation, while Noise Gate, denoising tools and Stem Splitter address restoration and separating mixed recordings. Users can work with Apple and third-party Audio Units plug-ins, Live Loops, Sampler and Quick Sampler, then share iPad projects through iCloud Drive. Final Cut Pro, GarageBand for iOS and SoundCloud add ecosystem connections. Choose Logic Pro for a broad Apple-centered production workflow; choose an alternative if access beyond Mac and iPad is essential.
