Linchpin review
A feature-rich Confluence intranet for large organizations, with a high annual entry price.

Linchpin is an enterprise intranet built on Atlassian Confluence for organizations that need shared communication and collaboration across departments, locations and languages. It combines employee profiles, a people directory, personalized navigation, corporate news, events, microblogging, an app launchpad and mobile access. Organizations can install it in a customer-managed Confluence environment or have it operated and hosted by Seibert Group GmbH. Its audience is clearest among large Confluence teams that want corporate communication alongside their existing knowledge platform.
Pricing is annual and plan-based. The Up to 500 users plan costs $29,250 per year, followed by $38,600 for up to 1,000 users, $50,200 for up to 2,000, $55,915 for up to 3,000, $63,900 for up to 4,000, $72,950 for up to 5,000, and $79,275 for up to 10,000 or 15,000 users. A 30-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. The paid offering includes news publishing, a News Hub, events, personalized content, custom themes, dashboards and navigation, plus native mobile access.
Its platform fit is a major part of the buying decision. Linchpin integrates with Atlassian Confluence, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, UserSync, LDAP, MobileIron, VMware AirWatch and Microsoft Intune. Directory synchronization and mobile push notifications support larger, distributed workplaces, while the launchpad connects employees with internal and external tools. The main qualification is its long-term Confluence dependency: the vendor states that Data Center and Linchpin support continues only until March 28, 2029, and that there is no one-to-one feature-parity version on Confluence Cloud. Choose Linchpin for a large Confluence-based intranet with strong news and directory needs; consider alternatives if Cloud continuity or lower entry cost matters more.
