LimeSurvey is survey and questionnaire software for students, researchers, businesses, public-sector organizations, and other teams. It supports online form creation, response collection, analysis, and exports through a hosted cloud service or self-hosted open-source deployment. Its scope suits organizations that need multilingual surveys, controlled respondent access, custom branding, or integration with existing systems.

The feature set covers more than 30 customizable question types, conditional logic, relevance-based branching, participant lists, access codes, invitations, reminders, and completion tracking. Surveys can be distributed through public links, embeds, QR codes, social sharing, or password-protected links. Custom themes, fonts, colors, logos, CSS, and JavaScript support branded experiences, while response statistics, charts, filtering, and exports support analysis. XML-RPC and JSON-RPC APIs, Google Analytics integration, and plugins and modules extend its platform fit. Self-hosting adds deployment responsibility, but gives teams more control over the installation.

The Free plan includes unlimited surveys, one admin user, 10 MB of upload storage, and 25 responses per month. Basic costs $39 per month and includes 1,000 responses per month, unlimited questions, and one admin user. Expert costs $36 per month billed annually and includes 10,000 responses per year, three admin users, a white-label domain, and custom branding. Business costs $69 per month billed annually and includes 50,000 responses per year, 3 GB upload storage, an alias domain, and priority email support. Corporate includes tailored users and responses, SSO, LDAP, SAML, a dedicated server, and VIP support. LimeSurvey is a strong fit for teams prioritizing open-source flexibility and multilingual capability; smaller projects with more than 25 monthly responses should consider a paid plan.
