Leica Cyclone 3DR is desktop software for processing, analyzing, and delivering 3D reality-capture data. It is aimed at professional teams in surveying, AEC, tank inspection, tunnels, plant environments, and related production workflows. Registration supports best-fit and N-point alignment, while classification can be automatic or manual. The broader toolset covers point-cloud and mesh work, terrain modeling, stockpile measurement, inspection, virtual surveying, and deliverable creation.
Its strongest fit is for organizations that need more than point-cloud viewing or basic conversion. Cyclone 3DR can convert point clouds to meshes, refine meshes, create DSM and DTM outputs, calculate stockpile volumes, and produce sections, contours, profiles, and measurements. Inspection workflows span 3D, 2D, BIM, and tolerance checks. Reporting and export include PDF, CSV, 3D PDF, and BCF, while the scripting engine supports automation and customization for repeatable production work.
The ecosystem is a major consideration. The product connects with Cyclone FIELD 360, Cyclone REGISTER 360, Hexagon GeoCloud, Hexagon Mine Plan, Hexagon BricsCAD, AutoCAD, IFC, and Revit, giving Leica and Hexagon users a broad path from capture through downstream design or coordination. The Standard Subscription includes DSM/DTM creation, meshing tools, inspection and measurement, automatic feature extraction, reporting, and IFC and Revit interoperability; a separate Reality Capture Subscription Base is required. Choose Cyclone 3DR when structured desktop processing and detailed deliverables matter. Teams needing macOS support, a free starting tier, or a narrower point-cloud utility may prefer a simpler alternative.
