A flexible self-hosted LXP with broad academic tools, but limited mobile and standards support.

Leemons is a learning experience platform for schools, universities, training centers, corporate training teams, and nonprofit organizations. It brings together academic programs, courses, enrollment, multimedia content, activities, assessments, feedback, scheduling, communication, and learning analytics. Role-based access control supports administrator, teacher, student, and super-admin profiles, making the platform suitable for organizations managing several participant types across structured learning programs.
Its main appeal is the combination of open-source software, a free plan, and self-hosted deployment. The published plans show a Free option with free-forever access and no credit card requirement. The Basic plan includes unlimited programs, unlimited subjects, unlimited users, and learning analytics. Leemons is also available as a SaaS product, while modular plugins provide a route for extending functionality. That combination gives institutions a choice between managing their own environment and adopting a hosted setup.
The feature set is broad for academic and training administration. Dashboards, task and test assignment, reusable question banks, scoring, grading, teacher feedback, calendars, schedules, Kanban task management, and a multimedia library cover the core workflow from content delivery through assessment. Learning analytics adds visibility into activity and outcomes. The trade-off is a narrower modern learning experience layer: Leemons does not provide mobile apps, SCORM, xAPI, personalized learning paths, or AI recommendations. Choose it when control, self-hosting, open-source access, and foundational learning operations matter most. Organizations needing mobile delivery, established e-learning standards, or adaptive recommendations should consider an alternative.
