LANraragi review
A capable self-hosted manga library for format breadth, metadata, and OPDS access.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
LANraragi is an open-source server application for storing, organizing, and reading comics and manga. It suits solo users and small teams that want to manage a large archive on their own infrastructure. The web interface supports browser reading, while an OPDS catalog connects compatible reader software. Libraries can be organized into categories and Tankoubons, with tags, summaries, chapters, and per-page overlays available for more detailed cataloging.
Its open-source model includes a free plan, and deployment is listed across cloud, self-hosted, web, Windows, and API environments. The project documents Docker installation and offers Windows builds, with community and documentation support channels. This setup gives owners control over where the library runs, but it also makes server administration part of the product experience rather than an optional concern.
Archive and library management are LANraragi’s strongest areas. It reads ZIP, RAR, TAR.GZ, LZMA, 7Z, XZ, CBZ, CBR, CBW, PDF, and limited EPUB archives; metadata plugins can import additional information, duplicate scanning can identify repeated files, and server-side downloads keep archives on the managed system. JSON database backups provide a portable way to preserve library data. Choose LANraragi if you want a format-flexible, metadata-aware archive server with OPDS access. Readers who prefer hosted cloud storage instead of running their own server should choose another app.
