Ladle is a mobile recipe organizer and meal-planning app for home cooks who want saved recipes to become practical weekly plans. It imports recipes from links, videos, and photos, organizes them in a library, and schedules them across the week. A grocery list generated from the plan groups ingredients by aisle, while step-by-step cook mode keeps the cooking flow in the app. The product is aimed at individual cooks and small households; its mobile-only availability suits people planning and cooking from a phone or tablet.
The free tier includes an unlimited recipe library, weekly planner, smart grocery list, cook mode, and five recipe imports per week. Plus is available for $39.99 per year or $5.99 per month, with unlimited imports, macro tracking, auto-plan, a Today tab, batch meal prep, and fridge scan. A seven-day free trial is listed. The distinction is straightforward: occasional recipe saving and basic planning are covered on Free, while frequent importing and nutrition-oriented planning require Plus. The annual option costs less than paying the monthly rate across a year.
Ladle’s strongest fit is the path from discovery to cooking: recipe imports include videos and photos, and its cookbook-page and meal scanning add further ways to bring recipes into the library. Planning can account for nutrition targets, and fridge or pantry scanning is intended to help work with ingredients already available. Choose it if that mobile workflow and optional macro tracking match your routine. It is less suitable if desktop access or verified integrations are important, or if a recurring Plus charge is not worthwhile for the added planning tools.
