Korr is a free offline grammar checker for people who want local correction in French, English, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese. Its correction engines run locally on the device, without an account, usage limits or an analysis server. Users can review changes individually with accept or reject controls, maintain a personal dictionary stored locally, and choose between the web app, Windows application or Chrome-compatible browser extension. The tool covers grammar, spelling, punctuation, typography and selected language-specific corrections.

Its platform fit is practical for browser-based writing and Windows workflows. The browser extension works in text fields on websites, while the Windows app can correct selected text in other programs. Listed integrations include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Discord, Gmail and Slack. The web app can also be installed for offline use, giving users more than one way to keep correction local across common writing environments.

Korr’s strongest distinction is its no-cost offline model. Optional local AI rewriting styles extend the product beyond correction while keeping processing local, according to the product description. The trade-off is a narrower scope: language coverage is limited to five languages, and the experience is centered on correction, review and selected rewriting styles rather than a wider writing platform. Choose Korr if local processing, multilingual correction and a free plan matter most. Choose an alternative if you need broader language coverage or deeper writing-workflow features.
