KonaCad is a browser-based 2D CAD tool for measured floor plans, deck plans, garden layouts, and laser-cut designs. It combines menu- and command-line-based drafting with direct dimensional entry, object snaps, ORTHO drafting, reusable symbols, blocks, and cloud autosave. It runs without installation on computers through a web browser, making it suited to users who want straightforward 2D drafting and file output rather than a broad desktop CAD environment.
The pricing is simple: the Everything plan costs 8 USD per month or 69 USD per year. Both options include every command and tool, unlimited cloud drawings with autosave, DXF import and export, Print/PDF with a check ruler, and the full symbol library. A 7-day trial is available, requires a payment card, and there is no free tier. The annual price is limited to the first 100 members and may rise for later members, so the monthly option is the more flexible starting point.
KonaCad’s strongest fit is a focused drafting-to-output workflow. Scaled PDF printing includes a scale bar and check ruler, while SVG export supports laser-cutting workflows. Cut-file checking can identify open shapes, doubled lines, and stray fragments before output. The product is less suitable for teams or projects that depend on DWG exchange, parametric constraints, integrations, or installed desktop software.
