Kleki review
Kleki pairs accessible browser painting with layers and useful image-editing tools.

Kleki is a free browser-based painting and image-editing tool developed by bitbof, suited to solo creators and small-scale work such as sketches, illustrations, and edits to imported images. It runs on web browsers across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iPad, so it does not require an installation. Its focus is raster painting and image editing rather than a broad desktop drawing suite, which makes it a practical fit when browser access and a no-cost workflow matter more than extensive customization.
The available tools cover more than basic brushwork: Kleki includes layers with blend modes and clipping masks, selections, transforms, text, shapes, gradients, and a paint bucket. Filters include blur, hue and saturation, curves, and sharpen, and line-art extraction adds a specific aid for illustration workflows. Stylus pressure can control brush size and opacity when the browser supports it. Brush customization is not a current capability, however, so artists who depend on tuning brushes may prefer a drawing application with that option.
File handling gives Kleki useful flexibility for a browser tool. It can import JPEG, PNG, PSD, SVG, WEBP, BMP, and GIF files, then save as PNG, layered PSD, or individual layer PNG files. Local browser storage and tab recovery support continuing work in the browser, while public source code and community funding describe its project model. Support is through documentation. Choose Kleki for quick painting and image edits with layers and transferable files; choose a fuller desktop suite if a wider feature set or customizable brushes are central to your workflow.
