Jewelry CAD Dream is desktop computer-aided design software for jewelry designers, manufacturers, custom jewelers, CAD users, students, and hobbyists. Its feature set is oriented toward jewelry production, combining hybrid and history-based modeling with parametric design, gemstone and setting tools, ring sizing, jewelry templates, and pre-built components. It also supports STL export for 3D printing and includes production-oriented tools such as sprue creation, bills of materials, stone and metal weights, and drawing sheets. The Windows-only application is most suited to professional designers who need jewelry-specific modeling and manufacturing workflows in one desktop product.
Pricing centers on the JCD v15 Permanent License, which costs $4,850 as a one-time purchase and includes 80+ new tools, 75 improvements to prior tools, and Jewelry CAD Academy access. The rendering engine is not included with that license. The Rendering Engine Add-On costs $200 one time, includes Jewelry CAD Dream materials, and is available with a subscription or permanent license. A JCD v14+ Trial provides one month with Academy access, while the JCD v15 Test Drive costs $145 one time for one month and also includes the Academy. This structure gives buyers a paid evaluation route, but the full license is a substantial upfront commitment.
The main strength is breadth within jewelry-specific CAD: pavé tools cover round and fancy gemstones, setting tools address bezels, wire settings, and prongs, and cutter tools include micro pavé scallops, azure cutters, and honeycomb cutters. Physically based rendering and animations are available through partner rendering software rather than the core license. Choose Jewelry CAD Dream if production modeling, sizing, settings, manufacturing preparation, and jewelry-focused templates justify the cost. Designers who need a non-Windows workflow, a lower initial price, or rendering included in the base license should consider an alternative.
