Jant review
A focused choice for solo publishers who want flexible posts and portable content.

Jant is open-source blogging software for personal writers who want a lightweight site that combines traditional blogging with short-form publishing. Its Note, Link, and Quote formats support different kinds of updates, while Threads, Collections, attachments, ratings, RSS feeds, and Featured or Latest publishing states add structure. Jant fits solo publishers and small personal projects more naturally than multi-author teams.
Jant offers a free self-hosted option through Cloudflare’s free tier, while its hosted service has one published plan: Hosted Jant costs $10.46 per year when billed annually. That plan includes a hosted service, custom domains with automatic HTTPS, automatic upgrades, three sites, and 10 GB of media storage. The hosted option reduces operational work, while self-hosting on Cloudflare Workers or Docker gives publishers more control over deployment.
Portability and ecosystem fit are central strengths. Jant connects with GitHub, Cloudflare Workers, Docker, Telegram, and Hugo, and supports GitHub Sync, Hugo export, an HTTP JSON API, an MCP interface, and Telegram publishing. Custom CSS and appearance controls allow code-based theme editing, and multilingual content supports broader publishing needs. The trade-off is a narrow operating model: Jant is limited to one author and does not provide scheduled posts or analytics. Choose it for independent publishing with flexible formats and content portability; teams, collaborative publications, and publishers that depend on scheduling or analytics should choose a platform built around those needs.
