Isadora is a desktop media-processing and visual-programming environment from TroikaTronix. Its node-based workflow combines real-time video, audio, lighting, data, projection mapping, show control, and interactive input. It is designed for artists, designers, technicians, educators, and performers working on live media installations, performances, and interactive visual systems. The software runs on macOS and Windows and includes live camera capture, video tracking, multi-display output, GPU-based effects, GLSL shaders, and remote performance through IzzyCast.

Pricing is structured around short-term access and permanent licenses. The Isadora 7-Day Rental costs $17.50 one-time, while the 30-Day Rental costs $30 one-time; both work with Isadora 4 and 3. The yearly subscription costs $199 per year and renews annually. Isadora 4 Perpetual costs $725 one-time and includes two years of free updates. The Isadora 4 USB Key costs $875 one-time, includes a physical USB-key license, and also includes two years of free updates. Existing Isadora 3 users can upgrade to Isadora 4 for $325 one-time.

Its strongest fit is live visual control rather than broad post-production VFX. IzzyMap supports projection mapping, while multi-projector output, camera tracking, GPU effects, and integrations such as Syphon, Spout, NDI, RTMP, Blackmagic, Kinect, and Orbbec support interactive setups. MIDI, OSC, serial, TCP/IP, PJLink, Arduino Firmata, DMX, and Art-Net extend its connections to instruments, controllers, lighting, and show systems; Python and JavaScript add scripting options. However, its live-performance orientation and limited roto coverage make it less suitable for general VFX. Choose Isadora for real-time projection, interactive media, and show control; choose another tool for roto-heavy or conventional VFX work.
