iodéOS review
A deGoogled Android option for tracking app connections and blocking unwanted recipients.

iodéOS is an Android-based operating system derived from LineageOS, aimed at people seeking a privacy-focused alternative to stock Android. Its built-in iodé app monitors app network connections and data recipients, then blocks listed ad, tracker, and other unwanted destinations locally. It also includes privacy-oriented apps, Aurora Store, F-Droid, and microG services as a replacement for Google Play Services. This makes it a fit for Android users who want visibility and control over app traffic; it is not a general-purpose operating system for desktop or iOS devices.
The free plan includes the deGoogled Android system, monthly OTA security updates, standard ad and tracker blocking, and network-level blocking options. Premium costs €3.99 per month and adds reinforced blocking, advanced network control, custom blocking rules with backup, and options to block adult content and social media. Premium Family is €6.99 per month and includes Premium features. Teams costs €9 per device per year, with Premium features, MDM compatibility, dedicated support, and volume discounts available. The free system is a practical starting point; users who need stronger controls or custom rules should compare the recurring subscription cost with their needs.
Installation is available for free on a list of officially supported phones and tablets, with an installer for Windows and Linux as well as a manual installation option. Device support is therefore a key consideration before choosing iodéOS: it suits users whose hardware is supported and who are comfortable installing an alternative Android system, but it may not suit someone who expects coverage for any Android device. Teams adds MDM compatibility and dedicated support for organizational deployments. Choose iodéOS for app-connection visibility and adjustable blocking; look elsewhere if your device is unsupported or you need a non-Android system.
