Idelium review
Open-source workspace for code-driven browser, mobile and API test automation.

Idelium is an open-source test automation platform for engineering and QA teams that need a shared control plane across browser, mobile and API testing. Its web workspace brings projects, environments, reusable steps, tests, execution cycles and results into one place. The Idelium DSL provides code-based authoring for browser flows, while the runtime can execute Selenium browser tests, Appium mobile tests, Postman and Newman API collections, and plugin-based custom tests. This makes it a fit for small, mid-market and enterprise teams that prefer to keep test infrastructure inside their own environment.
The platform’s strongest differentiator is its combination of broad execution coverage and step-level traceability. Teams can retrieve definitions and run tests from the CLI on developer workstations, isolated hosts or CI agents, then connect repeatable cycles to Jenkins, GitLab or Bamboo. Reusable steps and environment records support centralized organization, while detailed step results help connect failures to specific parts of a flow. Plugin-based runtime extensions provide a path for custom systems beyond the built-in browser, mobile and API targets.
Idelium is free and open source, with self-hosted deployment delivered through Docker Compose components for the Web interface, API and MariaDB. That model keeps the platform and test data within an organization’s infrastructure, but it also puts deployment, upgrades and operational maintenance on the adopting team. Email and documentation are the listed support channels. Choose Idelium if you want one self-managed workspace and CLI-driven execution across multiple test types; choose a hosted alternative if minimizing infrastructure ownership is more important than control.
