iconik is a cloud-native media asset management platform from Backlight for creative teams, production companies, broadcasters, marketers, and distributed organizations. It indexes media across cloud and on-premise storage and supports video, audio, images, PDFs, production files, Adobe Premiere Pro project files, and After Effects templates. Teams can organize assets with metadata fields, tagging, AI enrichment, visual search, version history, secure guest links, and publishing workflows. Access is available through web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and REST APIs.

Pricing is structured by user role. The Collaborator plan provides free collaborator access, while Browse User costs $9 per user per month for browse access. Standard User costs $65 per user per month, and Power User costs $120 per user per month. Professional adds Advanced AI, automation capacity, SSO, Desktop Player, and included proxy, transfer, and egress storage. Enterprise adds enterprise administration, advanced compliance and audit logs, premium support SLAs, a dedicated technical account manager, and bring-your-own proxy storage. Professional and Enterprise pricing is custom.

The strongest fit is a media operation that needs more than a file repository. Review and approval workflows include comments and annotations; asset comparison and history support version control; and the Desktop Agent handles resumable bulk transfers. Media teams can connect Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, AWS S3, Azure Blob, Wasabi, LucidLink, Okta, OneLogin, Google Video Intelligence, AWS Rekognition, and MASV. The iOS app supports upload, search, review, annotation, and approval. Smaller teams seeking a basic image library may prefer a narrower tool, while distributed production teams should find iconik’s hybrid storage and media-focused workflows more relevant.
