Hyvor Relay review
A self-hostable email API with broad delivery controls and developer-focused infrastructure.

Hyvor Relay is an open-source email API for developers building transactional or distributional email projects. It can run through a self-hosted deployment or through HYVOR’s cloud instance, with web, API, and self-hosted access. The REST API supports HTML or plain-text email, attachments, custom headers, and multiple recipients, while SMTP relay is available on ports 587 and 25. Domain verification, DKIM authentication, suppression management, and delivery-status tracking cover core sending and reputation workflows.
Its strongest fit is teams that want control over infrastructure and email operations. The Self-Hosted plan uses the AGPL-3.0 license, includes unlimited usage, and includes all features. Deployment is supported with Docker Compose or Docker Swarm, and the product integrates with SMTP, OpenID Connect, PostgreSQL, and Docker. Built-in DNS automation handles SPF, DKIM, PTR, and related records, while logs and SMTP conversation inspection provide visibility into sending activity. Delivery, bounce, complaint, failure, domain, and suppression webhooks extend that visibility into application workflows.
According to the vendor’s published plans, Cloud Standard starts at €30 per month and includes 300,000 emails per month, priority support, managed deliverability, and an SLA and uptime guarantee. The Enterprise License is €10,000 per year and adds no AGPL-3.0 obligations, volume-based pricing, enterprise support, and SLA options. The cloud instance is not open for public signups, while self-hosting is available. Hyvor Relay suits high-volume teams that value open-source control, SMTP compatibility, and detailed delivery events. Teams seeking built-in template management or a primarily cloud-first transactional email service should consider another option.
