Hyperion Launcher review
A free Android home-screen replacement with detailed layout and visual controls.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Hyperion Launcher replaces the Android home screen with configurable desktop, app drawer, and dock layouts. It is aimed at people who want control over the look and behavior of their launcher, including solo users and small teams of personal-device users. The free version includes themes and color controls, grid settings, app drawer and dock customization, and icon packs; Hyperion Supreme adds further customization options.
The main draw is the breadth of visual and interaction settings. Users can adjust grid layouts, icon size and styling, folder appearance, and colors across the launcher, drawer, dock, folders, and widgets. The app drawer has position and automatic-close options, while folders support covers and hidden apps. Supreme adds configurable one- and two-finger tap and swipe gestures, custom launcher fonts, expanded icon customization, a two-row dock, and Google Smart Widget customization. Adjustable launcher and app-launch animations and profiles with backup and restore add control beyond appearance alone.
The free-to-paid split is worth considering before choosing it: gestures and several of the more specialized controls are part of the separate Hyperion Supreme add-on, rather than the free launcher. Google Feed is optional and available through Hyperion Dock, so it is not a standalone integration. Hyperion is Android-only, and its feature set centers on home-screen customization rather than broader device management. Choose it if layout, icon, theme, and gesture options are priorities; look elsewhere if you need a launcher for another platform or prefer not to pay for advanced controls.
