HylaFAX Enterprise review
A feature-rich fax server for large deployments, with substantial licensing and channel costs.

HylaFAX Enterprise is commercial fax server software from iFAX Solutions for enterprise and high-volume fax environments. It supports physical servers, virtual machines, and an AWS appliance, giving organizations several deployment paths. The Base Server includes two channels, two T.38/FoIP soft modems, and unlimited users. Core capabilities include email-to-fax, fax-to-email, web and desktop faxing for Windows and Mac, fax routing, and SQL database integration and reporting. A 30-day free trial is available.
Its strongest case is breadth for complex fax operations. HylaFAX Enterprise supports T.38 Fax over IP and SIP, Brooktrout TR1034 fax boards, clustering and high availability, and routing based on DID, caller ID, barcode, DTMF, time of day, and TSI. APIs, SDKs, and sendfax command-line submission support application integration, while connectors and integrations cover Microsoft Exchange, SAP, Dialogic Brooktrout, T.38/SIP gateways, Java, Perl, Delphi, and SMTP. This makes it a fit for teams that need faxing embedded across business systems rather than a standalone sending tool.
The licensing structure favors larger deployments with defined channel requirements. Base Server licensing is $1,599 one-time per server, with two channels included. Additional T.38/FoIP channels cost $500 each, while additional supported Brooktrout TR1034 and Mainpine board channels cost $100 each. Standard and Premium Support and Software Maintenance add support, updates, and maintenance releases; Premium includes 24/7/365 support, and both list response times within four hours. Choose HylaFAX Enterprise when high availability, routing depth, hardware support, or broad integration options matter. It is less suitable for organizations seeking a free product or a low-cost fax service with minimal infrastructure.
