GonVisor review
A capable local comic reader with broad archive support, but no cloud sync.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
GonVisor is a free Windows desktop reader for comics, manga, magazines, image sequences, and electronic books. It suits solo readers and small setups that keep their collections on a Windows computer and want one viewer for archives, loose images, folders, and PDFs. Its local library tools search comic files and track whether items are read or in progress, while bookmarks preserve a reading position.
Format support is a practical strength: GonVisor opens CBR, CBZ, CBA, CB7, ZIP, RAR, ACE, and 7z files, as well as image and PDF files. It can also create CBR and CBZ archives from selected images. Reading controls include two-page viewing, margin reduction, zoom, rotation, image enhancement filters, and customizable hotkeys and mouse controls. These features make it more than a basic image viewer, though panel-reading is not part of its feature set. Readers who want cloud sync or a reading library shared across devices should look elsewhere.
The vendor describes GonVisor as free and offers full-install and portable Windows downloads. Its current download page lists Windows releases; an older WINE version is described for Linux, Mac, and Solaris, so it is not a current native option for those platforms. Documentation is the listed support channel. Choose GonVisor if broad local format support, bookmarks, and straightforward reading-status tracking matter more than device flexibility. It is a less suitable choice for readers who need cloud sync, native non-Windows releases, or a service with broader listed support channels.
