Gesso is portfolio and studio-management software for visual artists, including painters, printmakers, ceramicists, illustrators, and others managing both public work and studio operations. Its web-based platform combines a public portfolio site with themes, pages, galleries, slideshows, video, embed blocks, artwork inventory, custom pages, analytics, CV management, and business administration. Artwork records can include images, metadata, pricing, statuses, collections, and tags. Artists can also connect supported services such as Shopify, Square, Stripe, Mailchimp, MailerLite, Prodigi, Gelato, and Printful.
The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes a public portfolio on a Gesso subdomain, up to 10 works, three images per work, artwork management, a CV, a calendar, and reminders. The Portfolio plan costs $12 per month with monthly billing, or $10 per month with annual billing, and adds unlimited works, a custom domain, custom pages and landing pages, and website analytics. The Studio plan costs $24 per month monthly, or $20 per month annually, and adds checkout, payment links, a collector CRM, print editions, print checkout, expenses, events, a blog, and an opportunities tracker. The Pro plan costs $39 per month monthly, or $32.50 per month annually, and adds invoice generation, gallery and representation tracking, portfolio exports, labels, certificates, and advanced analytics. A 14-day free trial is available.
Gesso is less suitable for artists who only need a simple portfolio and do not need inventory, commerce, or studio administration. The Free plan has a 10-work limit, uses a Gesso subdomain, and does not include the custom-domain and analytics features listed for Portfolio. Selling tools, collector CRM, and print checkout require Studio, while invoices, representation tracking, portfolio documents, and advanced analytics require Pro. Artists should consider an alternative if they need a different platform scope, a non-web platform, or core selling features on the entry paid tier.
