Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) is desktop software for configuring, calibrating and controlling Genelec Smart Active Monitors and subwoofers. It is aimed at studios, post-production rooms and immersive monitoring setups built around compatible Genelec hardware. GLM runs on macOS and Windows, and the application is free to download. Calibration uses a Genelec controller and reference microphone to measure the listening environment before applying adjustments.

AutoCal is the central workflow, handling room-response equalization, monitor level and distance delay calibration. AutoPhase addresses subwoofer crossover-phase optimization, while layout tools cover stereo, multichannel and 3D immersive systems. Users can switch between monitoring layouts and listening locations, group monitors, mute or solo channels, manage calibrated level and bass settings, and store or recall system configurations. GRADE adds room-acoustic analysis and reporting for documenting the monitoring environment.

GLM’s main trade-off is its hardware-specific design. Although the software itself is free, calibration and monitor control require compatible Genelec SAM hardware and a GLM controller, so it fits Genelec-centered rooms rather than mixed-monitor installations. The desktop deployment suits fixed studio workstations, and documentation is the listed support channel. Choose GLM when your room uses Genelec Smart Active Monitoring and needs automated calibration across stereo, multichannel or immersive layouts. Consider another room-correction tool if you need hardware-agnostic support or a non-Genelec monitoring system.

Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • AutoCal adjusts room response, level and delay automatically.
    • AutoPhase optimizes subwoofer crossover phase for calibrated systems.
    • Supports stereo, multichannel and 3D layouts with recallable settings.
  • Where it doesn't
    • Calibration and control depend on compatible Genelec SAM hardware and GLM controller.
    • Designed around Genelec monitors, limiting value for mixed-hardware studios.
    • Desktop-only operation on macOS or Windows; support is documentation-based.
