ftrack Studio is a production management platform for VFX, animation, film, games, and other creative studios. It brings project planning, scheduling, task tracking, team management, asset versioning, reporting, time logging, and interactive media review into one system. Its fit is strongest for teams coordinating creative work across production stages, particularly where version control, approvals, and frame-accurate feedback matter. Cloud workflows are supported, with optional self-hosting available for Enterprise customers.

Pricing is structured around Studio and Enterprise. According to the vendor's pricing page, Studio costs $25 per user per month when billed annually, or $30 per user per month when billed monthly. Both Studio options include planning, scheduling and tracking, interactive media review, project reports, the ftrack API, and 250GB of storage. A 14-day free trial is available, and the trial requires no credit card. Enterprise includes everything in Studio plus a named or dedicated account manager, optional self-hosting, an additional staging server, single sign-on, and optional priority support. Enterprise is available annually only.

The product's standout area is the connection between production coordination and creative review. Frame-accurate annotations, client feedback, asset version management, dashboards, PDF exports, and integrations with Foundry Nuke, RV, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya, Maxon Cinema 4D, Deadline, and cineSync support established post-production workflows. Python, JavaScript, and Curl API access, along with custom workflows and automation Actions, give studios room to adapt the platform to their pipelines. Choose ftrack Studio if your team needs structured planning alongside review and approvals; consider a more screenplay-led production tool if script-centered workflows are the priority.
