Format is a hosted portfolio website builder for photographers and other creative professionals. Its responsive templates and visual editor support custom pages with images, text, forms, embeds, audio, and video. The platform also combines portfolio presentation with private client galleries, direct video hosting on eligible plans, custom domains, SEO tools, social integrations, and an online store. Lightroom, Google Analytics, YouTube, Vimeo, Stripe, and PayPal are supported integrations, while iOS apps extend portfolio management beyond the web.

The published annual-billing monthly-equivalent plans are Basic at $10 per month, Pro at $12, and Pro Plus at $15, with a 14-day trial. Basic includes 10 website pages, 70 high-resolution images, three client galleries, and 2 GB of file transfers, but no online store. Pro adds unlimited website pages, 1,500 high-resolution images, 100 GB of image storage, 15 hosted video minutes, 15 store products, and 50 client galleries. Pro Plus expands this to unlimited images, 1 TB of image storage, 120 hosted video minutes, 1,000 store products, 250 client galleries, and an advanced code editor.

Format’s strongest fit is for creators who need a polished public portfolio alongside client proofing and selling tools. Its gallery workflow covers feedback, favorites, downloads, and watermarking, while commerce can handle physical products, services, and digital downloads. Custom HTML and CSS are available on eligible plans, but website content generally cannot be exported as code, which matters for teams planning a future move to another platform. Choose Format for an integrated portfolio, gallery, video, and commerce workflow; choose an alternative if code portability is a central requirement.

Vendors can pay for top positions in our rankings and for a place on other products' pages, and we may earn a commission when you click some links.
