form·Z is desktop 3D modeling software for architects, interior designers, product designers, and other professionals working across design, visualization, and fabrication. Its modeling scope covers mesh-based polygonal, ACIS solid, NURBS, subdivision-surface, and parametric workflows. Sculpting and deformation tools, animation features, interactive shaded rendering, and production exports make it suited to designers who need one application across concept development and output preparation.
The product line offers several licensing paths. form·Z Free provides mesh-based modeling, 3D print export, and no usage restrictions. The form·Z Core subscription costs $219 per year and adds polygonal, NURBS, and ACIS solid modeling, parametric primitives, and 3D print export. Pro subscription costs $439 per year and adds advanced modeling and animation, Python scripting, and batch and network rendering. Perpetual licenses cost $495 for Core and $995 for Pro, with permanent licensing and the corresponding edition features. A 30-day free trial is also available.
Platform and ecosystem fit are strongest for desktop-centered workflows. form·Z supports Twinmotion, V-Ray, Maxwell, RenderZone, Unreal Engine, Sketchfab, and Augment, while its export capabilities cover 3D printing and CNC manufacturing. The free edition is a practical entry point for mesh-focused work, while Core suits designers needing multiple modeling methods. Pro is the clearer choice for animation, scripting, and rendering at scale. Designers requiring Windows or macOS desktop software should find the coverage aligned with the product; those needing another platform or advanced Pro capabilities without upgrading should look elsewhere.
