FontLeech Font Identifier review
A free, local-processing font matcher with broad family coverage and CSS export.

FontLeech Font Identifier is a free browser utility for finding likely typefaces from visual samples. You can upload JPEG, PNG, or WebP files up to 10 MB, paste a screenshot from the clipboard, or load an image from a direct URL. After cropping a single horizontal text line, the tool compares the sample against indexed families and reports likely family, weight, and italic posture. It suits solo users, small teams, and mid-market groups that need a quick identification workflow without installing software.
Its standout capability is the breadth of its visual matching index: more than 100,000 font families are included. Processing runs client-side through WebGPU, with CPU fallback, so the matching work occurs in the browser. Candidate specimen cards let you compare alternatives, then copy generated CSS declarations and, when available, Google Fonts imports. This combination is useful when identification is only one step in moving from a reference image to a working web style.
The narrow browser focus also defines its limits. There is no dedicated camera-capture feature, and the product does not offer mobile, desktop, browser-extension, or API access. That makes it less suitable for field workflows, automated pipelines, or teams that need a reusable identification service. Choose FontLeech when local browser processing, broad family coverage, and CSS copying are priorities; choose another tool when direct camera input, native apps, extensions, or programmatic access matter more.
